    Navigating federally funded QAP LIHTC/HUD projects often require specialized expertise beyond traditional private development and management. Staying current with federal laws that impact construction budgets is essential in today’s market.  For example, the 2017 ANSI A117.1 updates, 2025 Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act has gone into effect, leading to increased construction costs. Additionally, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is implementing new regulations that will significantly raise project costs, the mechanical system will require additional square footage within buildings, and mandate fire-rated shafts for all line sets and some equipment.  Ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed of potential budget escalations early in the design process is crucial for establishing feasibility and implementing measures to ensure project success.
